MTX is considering adding distributor partners in specific areas of the country.
In today’s market, since the pandemic, more dealers are working with distributors, even on a limited basis, said Vice President Jason Fikas. “Since COVID, various dealers are partnering with distributors and they are not doing it as all or nothing. They are doing it because consumer expectations are higher. Consumers want the product now and dealers large and small say that local distributors have become more important over the last four or five years.”
MTX has not stated in which markets it would add distributors.
A letter sent to retailers said, “You may recall our goal ten years ago was to take back control of our distribution and pricing to ensure that our dealers could expect consistent and substantial profits. Despite the challenges and costs involved, we achieved that goal and have remained committed to it ever since. The addition of distributors in specific regions will not alter this; on the contrary, we anticipate receiving more support in our efforts to build our brand, which will ultimately help us all. Our dedication to supporting our dealers remains unchanged, our focus is sharper, and our commitment to this product category is growing ..”
MTX said it plans to add more than 50 new products in the next six months and it will also introduce new products next year.
Fickas noted that MTX is not looking to add more online accounts via distribution. “We’re interested in supporting our dealer network via distribution.”
