Boston Launches Program to Curb Transhipping

Boston Acoustics launched a new program to curb transshipping, which requires dealers to agree to new guidelines.

Boston AcousticsAs part of the program, dealers must register at a new online portal. The company also instituted a new unilateral pricing policy and guidelines on product rebates. The aim is to ensure consumers purchase only from authorized resellers.

“This initiative allows Boston to protect the brand while engaging our dealers at a higher, more dedicated level than ever before,” said national sales manager for mobile audio Sanjay Sharma.

All Boston dealers including online retailers must register at the new portal and agree to the terms that prohibit transshipping, said Boston.

  1. A qualified bravo! Bravo if Boston Acoustics actually follows through with this program. Not so bravo, if for some reason Boston Acoustics makes such a bold announcement and then does not follow through. I am afraid retailers might become even more jaded regarding the “wild west” nature of our business.
