OnStar is in discussions to line up insurance discounts for its customers as a way to encourage them to renew the $199-plus annual OnStar fees, said president Chris Preuss.
Talks are underway with Century 21 and Liberty Mutual, and State Farm insurance is launching an OnStar discount pilot in California later this year. Also last year, State Farm conducted a trial in Ohio, reports The Detroit Free Press.
Currently half of GM drivers keep OnStar after the trial period expires.
